Question:

Answer:

What are Freesat Integrated Digital Televisions (IDTV’s)?

The new Freesat Integrated Digital televisions represent the latest evolution in viewing technology and combine the benefits of HD picture quality with freesat HD reception in a single product

Customers who have purchased an IDTV product should ensure that the product is unpacked and placed in situe ready for the new freesat satellite signal to be connected.

Note: A standard satellite dish installation visit is designed to provide satellite signals to an existing product (IDTV) and does not include the unpackaging and installation of television/ AV/ Hi-Fi type products

Once the Engineer has completed the satellite dish installation, he will then route the downlead cable to the satellite signal input socket located on the rear of the television (IDTV).

With this in mind, it is important to remember that the Engineer will require access to the rear of television during the satellite dish installation visit.

Note: The Customer is responsible for making sure that the Engineer has clear access to the rear signal input socket on Wall mounted televisions.

Question:

Answer:

Will freesat work with Flat Screen Televisions (LCD/ Plasma)?

Customers who have purchased a freesat HD satellite receiver to provide High Definition signals to their ‘HD Ready’ LCD/ Plasma television should ensure that their flat screen television has adequate HDMI/ DVI input sockets ready for the new freesat signal.

Freesat HD receivers are normally supplied with a short HDMi to HDMI lead which is designed to fit between the HDMI socket on the freesat STB and an available HDMI socket on the television. (The freesat STB will require a free HDMI input socket to provide High Definition signals)

Note: Customers are recommended to always check the interconnectivity of their televisions before purchasing a freesat receiver, as some older types of flat screen television may use alternative types of AV connections (DVI/ Component etc) and may require the Customer to obtain more bespoke cables from their Retailer.

A standard satellite dish installation visit is designed to provide satellite signals to a freesat STB which is connected to an existing product (LCD/ Plasma) and does not include the unpackaging and installation of television/ AV/ Hi-Fi type products

Once the Engineer has completed the satellite dish installation, he will then route the downlead cable to the freesat HD STB before proceeding to connect the freesat HD signal to the televisions HDMI signal input socket which is normally located on the rear.

Note: The Customer is responsible for making sure that the Engineer has clear access to the rear HDMI signal input socket on Wall mounted televisions during the satellite dish installation visit.
